Talk about arrogance! What cheek... and then to try and explain them away and say that isn't what I really meant? Excuse me... but your true colors are showing!

Please vote with your head and not with your emotions.

Sigh.

God Speaking

The following are the lyrics from a song I love -- it's off Mandisa's "True Beauty" cd. I know I often question my discernment about God speaking to me and this song just puts it beautifully.

Have you ever heard a love song
that Set your spirit free,
Have you ever watched a sunrise,
and Felt you could not breathe

What if it's Him,
What if it's God speaking
Have you ever cried a tear that,
You could not explain
Have you ever met a stranger
Who already knew your name
What if it's Him
What if it's God speaking

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us
Get our attention to prove He is enough
He'll do and He'll use
Whatever He wants toTo tell us "I love you"

Have you ever lost a loved one
Who you thought should still be here
Do you know what it feels like
To be tangled up in fear
What if He's somehow involved
What if He's speaking through it all

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us
Get our attention to prove He is enough
He'll do and He'll use
Whatever He wants to
To tell us "I love you"

His ways are higher
His ways are better
Though sometimes strange
What could be stranger
Than God in a manger

Who knows how He'll get a hold of us
Get our attention to prove He is enough
Who knows how He'll get a hold of you
Get your attention to prove He is enough
He'll do and He'll useWhatever He wants to
To tell us "I love you"
God is speaking"I love you"

PWOC --- following God's leading.

You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.

Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.
I, even I, am the Lord,
and apart from me there is no savior.

I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—
I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God.

Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?”

Isa 43:10-13

These are verses the Lord gave me in reference to my appointment as President of PWOC this year here at Fort Riley. This Tuesday is the day we will be affirmed. There has been a hue and cry from one of the ladies who is my friend (but whom I may have confided in to quickly) but feels this is not the time for me to be President. While I respect her opinion I have issues when others tell me they are speaking for God. Can I not hear him? While I in no way claim to be perfect or even close to it I firmly believe God uses ordinary women with all their flaws to do extraordinary things for him if they are willing to be yielded to Him. And Satan can even use us to stir up trouble if we give into our own desires for something! Blind us to that fact.

I feel the Lord has very clearly told me He will lead me as I lead them. After fasting and praying I am going forward with the nomination and on Tues if no one stands up to affirm that I will move on from there. Do I feel qualified? Nope not really but I think if I did I would be doing things in my own strength rather than His and my thought is that He wants me to trust Him, to cling to Him, that He is going to provide --- women to step up and serve with me who I can trust, money for gas(!), time management, school with the kiddos, etc... see Philippians 4:19. While I am excited to see what God will do it hurts my heart that all of this nonsense is going on! Surely God is not pleased when His children can't get along! Just as it is irritating when siblings fight and fuss so it must be to Him when we fuss over everything from carpet color to who's the best person for the job.

Tuesday will be interesting.

Some good news for married troops...

Of course it would still be better not to be deployed but at least this shows some understanding on the command's part.

Encouragement for our lives and sacrifice

"We have no right to decide where we should be placed, or to have preconceived ideas as to what God is preparing us to do. God engineers everything; and wherever He places us, our one supreme goal should be to pour out our lives in wholehearted devotion to Him in that particular work"...Oswald Chambers.

In other words whether we are changing diapers, fixing dinner, serving in a leadership position or just sitting and enjoying the sunset it should all be done in the knowledge that God put us there and has a purpose for us there even when we can't see it.

"Do ordinary things with extraordinary love: little things like caring for the sick and the homeless, the lonely and the unwanted, washing and cleaning for them. You must give what will cost you something. This then is giving not what you can live without, but what you can't live without, or don't want to live without.... Then your gift will become a sacrifice, which will have value before God. Any sacrifice is useful if it is done out of love. This giving until it hurts - this sacrifice - is what I call love in action"....Mother Teresa

A must read...

I just finished Laura Ingraham's "Power to the People" and it is a great read! Will make you mad perhaps but is certainly right on about the issues facing our country....

Some favorite quotes she uses in the book :

Each moral choice we make reverbarates into the lives of those around us and throughout the world.

A general dissolution of Principles and Manners will more surely overthrow the Liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy. While the people are virtuous they cannot be subduded; but once they lose their virtue they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader... If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their greatest security.
