Garden Dreaming....
We got our garden planted today! Finally... Tim managed to get my boxes built and we were able to get some topsoil/dirt from friends.
I will try to post pictures soon --- we have 6 boxes (4 are 4x4, 1 is 5x5 and 1 is 3x3) with veggies, herbs and flowers. I am hoping we will have enough to eat/supplement our food budget and possibly some to sell at the farmer's market this summer.
We planted: Tomatoes, Basil, Spinach, Chard, Cabbage and Parsley.
Peas, Onions, Carrots, Squash, Zucchini, Asparagus, Strawberries & Cilantro.
Dill, Majoram, Thyme, Marigolds, Chives, and Radishes.
Beets, and I need to plant some Garlic, Brussel Sprouts for Tim, Mint, Oregano
& Lemon Balm. Flowers I scattered in one box so we'll see what comes up!
Sara and I also cleaned out the front flower bed today and put down some mulch and some border. I need to get some more of that. I'm hoping my Diana, Princess of Wales Rose will do well! (Ross planted it for me the other night).
I have beautiful pink peony's, blue and purple iris, lily of the valley blooming in the flower bed that was here when we bought the place and my pansies and gerbera daises are doing ok as are my geraniums.
Now if I wasn't allergic to KS it would help.....

Graduation update
Sara's graduation was beautiful and I thought it was so cool to see 15 families talk about what the Lord's leading means to them, about our young people being willing to stand up for God in our culture today. Tim managed to make everyone cry because he was in uniform, talking about our life and his time with/away from Sara and was crying --- as he puts it "I was fine til I stood up"...I didn't speak, hadn't prepared anything. We had lots of family show up --- although for once the Massie side outnumbered the Cook side! ;) Sara wants to have a small party at the house next weekend with the graduates and friends.
What a beautiful competant young woman she has become.
